I wanted to make sure that I got a 40 week belly picture taken. If I do end up going to 41 weeks, I doubt I’ll remember to take one since I will be induced that day. So here is my belly…. I decided to take a picture of it in all it’s uncovered glory. The first picture is the belly at 25 weeks (the last time I had it uncovered) and the second picture is today. Oh, how the belly can grow! The stretch marks make a lot of sense now… 😉 Also, how did it get so pale?!

39 Weeks!
I had a very eventful weekend. We got lots of stuff done and even snuck in a date night! Star Trek is awesome, by the way. If you like that sort of thing.
Anyway, today I can barely do anything. I slept terribly and I’m feeling pretty dizzy.. almost nauseated. I’ve tried eating and drinking water, but so far it’s not helping. I also had a dream last night that I was peeing and ended up peeing a little while in bed. *Sigh* I’ve looked to see if that is a common occurrence with ladies having their water break. It actually seems like it is, but I haven’t had anymore leaking and it wasn’t a ton of liquid, so I’m pretty sure it was just pee. I’ll be keeping an eye on it today. I wish it was my water breaking, I feel awful today.
Anyway, here is my belly! It is ready to pop! Everyone send me some popping vibes! Labor can start any minute now, so a couple minutes from now would be great. She looks ready to go, right??
38 Weeks!
Here I am… 38 weeks… and I have finally started feeling like absolute poo. I felt great all day yesterday until bed time. Then my stomach started hurting, like it was going to be upset. It was. Along with the sudden feeling of upset stomach, I became so incredibly nauseous that I wasn’t sure which way I should be facing the toilet. It was a miserable time. I felt sick all night. Every time I woke up to pee I wanted to crawl into the corner and be sick. My stomach isn’t hurting this morning, but the nausea is still there. I read in my pregnancy handbook (given to me at birthing classes) that flu-like symptoms can be a sign of impending labor. It can start hours to days before labor actually starts. I’m not sure if that is what this is, but I hope so. I also hope that labor doesn’t make me want to barf all over the place.
Ugh… I think I’m going to be in my recliner all day.
Here is my belly….
37 Weeks!
Say what??? Is baby girl now considered full term? Why yes, yes she is. Woo!
Although I’m not sure I’m 100% ready for her to make her appearance (still have a few things to accomplish), I am getting pretty excited. The contractions have kicked up a notch and she is sitting so low. I wish they would check me this week (Friday) and let me know if anything is going on “down there,” but they won’t do that until 39 weeks. Oh well… I can wait??
I’ve had two dreams this week that I started going into labor. I think the increase in braxton hicks contractions are making my brain fuzzy. 🙂
This isn’t going to be a huge update, I’m so tired and I want to crash and take a small nap before it’s time to cook dinner and whatever else…
Here is my belly! Does it look even lower?? I know she IS lower because of the increase in pains in my vagina area. Those are sharp pains too! I guess when you have a baby head in your pelvis it can cause all sorts of strange things….
36 Weeks!
Here I am at 36 weeks (as of 5/27)! I’m almost considered full term! Whoa!
Swollen feet, increased Braxton Hicks, decreased brain power… but relatively feeling good! I’ve been able to unpack boxes and even make dinner the past two nights. I am REALLY wanting to make chocolate chip cookies today, but that would require a trip to the store…. we will have to see how that works out for me.
The new house is amazing! I love the house, the community, and the location! I’m in love. So glad we got in just under the buzzer! I’ve got enough clean clothes for her in case she decides to come early, and her bassinet is set up and ready to go too! I’m wondering if that nesting thing is going to set in before she gets here so I can get EVERYTHING ready! I guess we will see….
Here is my belly! Is it just me, or does this look A LOT lower than last week? Doctors appointment is tomorrow and then I’ll be on a weekly schedule! AHHH! 🙂
35 Weeks!
Wowzers… Woo!
Okay, so I’m still feeling pretty good. The hemorrhoids are getting worse. I think I’m going to have to get something to at least keep the aching away. I have a friend who told me that she made pads for after delivery. She put witch hazel on them and put them in the freezer. I think I’m going to do the same. Should help with the pain from pushing her out, as well as the hemorrhoid pain, which is sure to get worse after delivery. Is it too early to sit on one of those doughnut cushions? Ha!
I spoke with the OB about the chiropractor. She said that she’s not sure what happened, but that it would be best to not have anymore adjustments during the pregnancy. I agreed. I then went in and talked to the Chiropractor that I like and explained what happened and why I wouldn’t be coming in for a while. He understood, but he also had no idea why the adjustment caused me so much pain. I guess I’m just a special case. The back pain is still the same if I’m not laying in the recliner or laying down to sleep, so there is no hope that adjustments will help that anyway. My biggest problem is going to be the leg pain while I’m sleeping, but I’ll take it over the (mental) trauma of a horrible adjustment.
We should be able to do the final walk-through of our house today! Yippy! We should be moving in on Thursday —- I hope I hope! I am ready to nest!
Here is my belly! I know I missed a picture from last week…. We’ve actually missed two pictures of my full body transformation that we take in front of the white board. We’ve been busy/tired/lazy. I think my belly looks outrageously bigger. I wish it was possible for you all to SEE the foot that is constantly poking out of my side. It’s pretty wild and completely amazing.
33 Weeks
…as of yesterday, 5/6/2013.
I am so tired. I feel like she’s tripled in size since last week.
I went to the chiropractor today. Apparently my horrible back pain is being caused by a big ol’ belly pushing my ribs up, while my giant boobs push my rib cage down. They are battling for heaviest part of my body. Belly is winning, of course. You should have seen the look of pity on his face when he thought I only had four weeks left and I informed him that it could be up to eight. It was pretty sad, for both of us. At the beginning of the appointment he walked in and said “wow, the change in your whole demeanor from last week to this week is pretty crazy.” I guess I’m starting to look as rough as I feel.
I’m still excited for every kick and movement I feel from her! I’m glad I still have quite a few weeks left though. With the move coming up, I’m going to need them! I’m ready to actually take all of her things out of boxes and KNOW what we have and don’t have! After three showers, we are still in need of a car seat, stroller, car seat bases (2), changing pad, breast pump, bottles, hamper….. I guess cute outfits are much more fun to buy than necessities. I am very grateful for what we got though!
Here is my belly…. it could still have EIGHT WEEKS to grow! I am just so confused as to how that is a possibility. The goal is to take it as easy as possible and just patiently wait for her arrival. *twiddles thumbs*
32 Weeks!
Of course this update is a day late…. that goes without saying.
Everything from the last post is still going strong. I’ve taken my rings off, even though my hands aren’t swollen all the time. I’ve had to pry them off 2-3 times now and I’m terrified that they are going to get stuck. I can tell my feet are starting to swell too. Just a little bit, but the toes turn white when I bend them and they just feel swollen. Just standing in the shower makes my feet ache.
I have another “problem” starting. I use quotation marks because although it is a problem, it’s fantastic. My sweet tooth is taking on a life of it’s own. Yesterday I ate a little bit of everything in the house that would be considered a dessert. It was amazing. I’m sure I’ll get “the look” when I step on the scale tomorrow at my OB appointment, but oh well. This girl obviously wants sweets and she can have whatever she wants…. in moderation? 😉
I am absolutely ready to be out of this apartment and in to our new house! Even though I’ll still have to walk the dogs for a little bit until our fence is built, it will be nice to not have to bend over to pick up the poo in a little baggy. Ever bend over with 24lbs of belly in front of you? Not easy, or fun, or cute. 2.5 more weeks! I can do it!
9 more weeks at most! Woo!
31 Weeks! (Late Again…)
I shouldn’t even post that these updates are late. It should just be a given. I did take a belly picture this week though, so I’ve got that going for me.
So, the pregnancy insomnia is back. It is possibly the meanest of all pregnancy symptoms. You are already exhausted even when you sleep well. Although “well” usually means up every 2 hours to pee or change positions because your back and legs ache so badly. I’m not complaining, mind you, but I am simply stating that you’d think your brain would let you shut down for a couple hours to let you rest from the overall insanity that is having less than nine weeks left. WHOA!
The swelling has also started. Everything below the belly is swelling. The YOU KNOW area, as well as the new hemorrhoids, and the feet (slightly, if I’ve been on them for a while). I’ve had a hemorrhoid since high school. It comes and goes. I’ve even been to a Proctologist and everything. Now, along with a bit of constipation, it’s getting a bit…. irritated down there. I’ve started back on prunes to at least alleviate the going pain. I have a feeling this problem will only be getting worse though.
Other than all of those things above, which are super normal, I am feeling pretty good. Everyone keeps telling me I look small still. Woo! I certainly don’t feel it when trying to get off the couch or roll out of bed. haha
Here is the belly! My shirt is actually green, but my phone needs to be put out of it’s misery….
30 Weeks!
I’m actually posting this ON my 30 week turnover! Woo! First time in a few weeks I’ve been on the ball. I even have a belly picture this week!
We moved into the apartment yesterday. We still have a few things at the house to pick up, but we should be done by tonight. The apartment is a disaster. It was great putting apartment stuff into a house, but vice versa is not so pretty. I’m just hoping we have enough space to hold the in-laws this weekend for baby shower #1. As long as we have a clear path to the bed, we should be fine I think.
The nausea over the past week has been less than fun. It kicks in around 3-4PM and lasts until I wake up the next morning. I’m going to be more vigilant on drinking water. I barely had two glasses yesterday. Yes, I know, it’s bad. I’m also starting on prunes. My ‘wake up and HAVE to go’ thing I’ve had the entire rest of the pregnancy is beginning to slack off. I think this might be another reason I’m getting nauseous. I’m still eating, but there isn’t room for the food! Good thing I don’t mind the taste of prunes!
The leg pain is out of control. It used to wake me up every 2-3 hours. Now it’s about every hour. Chiropractor is this week though! Woo! That should help for a few days. I also have my 30 week appointment this week. Appointments every two weeks is going to be awesome. I’m so impatient!
I can’t believe I’m 3/4 of the way through the pregnancy. It feels like it got here fast AND super slow all at the same time. How is that possible? I’m sitting here thinking “wow, only 10 weeks!” AND “wow, still 10 weeks?!” — Strange. 😉
Here is my belly! Looks pretty normal to me, but maybe it looks bigger to you? Same size?
